February 16th – London

February 16th – national day, celebrating Lithuania’s independence. The commemoration this time took place at the King’s College of London. Guests were greeted by the opening speech of UK LSA’s President Dovydas Šotland Juzefovičius, later following with a speech from his excellency ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Renatas Norkus. 

Meaningful words and wishes were sent by the Member of the Lithuanian Parliament Dalia Asanavičiūtė, who is also the Chairwoman of Global Lithuanians’ Community and is a former chairwoman of UK Lithaunians’ Community. Member of the European Parliament Petras Auštrevičius outlined the importance of unity especially during such political times.

The guests were later able to enjoy a wonderful performance by violinist Teodaras Kasteckas and pianist Ning Geng

February 16th was later happily celebrated with a glass of wine and warm discussions.
